The repairman told us it was the compressor and he refused to fix it because he said the replacement compressor would fail within 6 months and it would cost us so much money for the labor and parts. NEVER will I buy an LG again and I will tell every person I know. All the food in the freezer was defrosting and with this virus going around I don’t know even if I can get a new refrigerator delivered at this time. I am not interested in a repair, the last three repairs did not fix my fridge nor should the same part need to be fixed 6 months after replacement. I finally got them to find a local company who 5 days later and diagnosed a failed compressor. My lg side by side with built in ice maker that we bought in may 2017 . The compressor went bad. Wtf?! LG needs to get with the program and recall these things/swap them out. Big problem in this country with foreign made junk. These refrigerators are thousands of dollars plus the crazy amount of money we must shell out for service calls and parts. What pisses me off more is that I’m still paying for the fridge that already broken… Oh yeah, I have another “Appointment” Saturday! “LG had a duty to disclose the Compressor Defect based upon its exclusive knowledge of the Compressor Defect – a material fact that, had it been disclosed to consumers (including Plaintiffs), would have resulted in consumers not purchasing their Class Refrigerators,” the LG class action lawsuit states. This makes no sense I paid $3500 for this piece of crap from American appliances. One year later it did same thing. They have not contacted us in over a month. Don’t buy this product! Very very disappointing ?. I have had multiple compressors, valves, etc replaces in the last 2 months.
