If it is bothering you in the meantime you can tone it out by using a red semi-permanent (vegetable) dye heavily diluted in conditioner to make it a neutral color since opposite colors create a neutral shade.

i did a strand test and i used 20 vol and just bleached it (not a bleach bath this time and kept it on for an hour) and it did not lift as much as i expected. You can fill up your tub enough just to submerge the affected area if you want, but you’ll need to use less bleach.
