Some guys love this guns due to them being nearly unbreakable and shooting great patterns and some guys hate them due to their well documented jamming and malfunctioning problems. I took J’s advice and a friend who lets me hunt his ranch for deer and varmints told me he’d show me the ropes of turkey hunting. I purchased a 935 turkey about a year ago.
Maybe Mossburg needs to fine tune the 935 a little for the big shells. I could have harvested two more birds this season, but chose to let others get their chance on the ranch. Nah I'm not hard on it at all.
I'm on my second mossberg 935.The first one wouldn't open ,to unload the shells.So mossberg gave me a new gun and destroyed the old one.

I think I have figured out why my Mossberg 935 is not shooting properly. I have tryed different types of gun oils.I Even have used my air compressor to blow of any excess oil.I talked the gunsmith,told them. I've put ~500 rounds through my 935, and the only issue I've noticed is related to the 2 3/4 shells...technically I know they don't list them, but they will cycle. Put Break Free FP-10 on all parts that move or have mating moving parts and blow off with an air compressor including the trigger mechanism. Sorry to hear you guys are having problems, but seems there's not much of that with the 935, Mossburg should take care of it.

The folks at EOTech are continuing to improve on the original design. i put some 2 3/4 inch shells in there to see if it would shoot them.

The XPS2-0 is more compact and runs on CR123 batteries. I’m enjoying summer, but am really looking forward to fall turkey season now. I tried a few different methods, but I found using my offhand worked, so I practiced using my off and to manipulate the safety while I had the gun up on the Bog Pod.
Also, I had the same problem, right out of the box. If that doesn't work than onto the evaporating lube. So they're sending me a 935 box in which to ship it back to them with. Hopefully they will tell what was causing the problem, and permanently fix it, or send you new shotgun. I was calling to point where I thought I might be calling too much. Mossberg says 3" and 3.5" only on the smoothbore barrels because they are overbored and it is more difficult to operarte the action with most 2 3/4" loads.

I got no probs with mine so far i'm out almost every morning i use kent 1625's bb.The only thing that broke so far on mine is the shell extractor.It was a bad cast plus i think my barrell was a little loose because theres a mark were the extractor hit it.I think the biggest prob is all the plastic thats used in the gas assembly.There's alot of force bein generated in that area.Alot of guys are havin problems with the forearm retainer mines got a peice out of it .I'm just glad they back there guns as good as they do.It real hard gettin parts in CAN with are laws as well. The 935 Magnum is for tough game that require magnum loads, with superior down- range performance, overbored barrels, dual vent system and comparably one of the softest shooting 3.5″ shotguns available. It’s a little beat up from about 30 years of use but it still runs like the day I unboxed it.
The gun was shooting semi auto the first few uses, but it has been acting up a bit. I can tell you , that your not alone in this battle. .my brother purchased a 935 turkey/waterfowl combo.
I think the extra cleaning helped out a lot. Ned S. What ammo do you guys prefer? A lot of guys have 935's Grizrod is right, maybe 3 times as many 935's are sold than Beretta's and Benelli's just because of the cost factor.
i'm 12 years old and i just bought the mossberg 935. it was the first shotgun that i had ever bought and i have been hunting ever since i was 5. today i went outside to pattern it and i put up cardboard at 25 and 50 yards. Rule of thumb if you think you are — then you are. will eventually "wear in" and you will be good to go. I think Mossburg will make it right with you Bootnutz, I do not know if the newer 935's are better or not, was just a thought.

This can have a lot of reasons, Dirt, Wrong ammo, mechanical problem,... Just for example … From what I've seen, the majority of problems are due to the return spring not being cleaned properly or over oiling. Then what do you recommend, take it back out and shoot a couple boxes of 3" out of it? Personaly I will never own another 935 but will probley be the proud owner of a 835 forever.
