Now, even though Samuel L. Jackson shows some restraint, “The Samaritan” does not. Jackson is a great actor, but here he simply has poor material to work with, and it's a shame, because like I said, if the film would have been reworked, then this would be a truly engrossing thriller that would have definitely have stood out. However, it isn't and it fails on so many levels. Way too much psychosexual melodrama, portrayed in performances that range from utterly bored (Jackson) to embarrassingly broad (Kirby). Captain Fantastic True Story, I came here looking for any plot twists and spoilers I could find d. I had started 2nd ching this on netflix and became utterly bored with it. He was one of the biggest action stars of the 1980s, and Stallone proves he still has plenty of star power to burn with his latest movie Rambo: Last Blood, the fifth film in the long-running series that began with 1982’s First Blood and reached its violent zenith with 1985’s Rambo: First Blood Part II. After many years in prison, a former grifter (Samuel L. Jackson) tries to go straight, but the son (Luke Kirby) of his former partner insists on learning the game and relieving a feared gangster (Tom Wilkinson) of $8 million. Sure, we've seen plenty of this before, but the action moves right along with suitably dark sets and mood music to accompany all the nifty twists and turns.
